EMDR Therapy

A structured approach to processing distressing experiences

What is EMDR Therapy? How EMDR Works What EMDR Can Help With
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. It is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from different treatment approaches. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to repeatedly activate opposite sides of the brain. Therapists often use eye movements to facilitate this process. EMDR helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so that normal information processing is resumed. Panic attacks, complicated grief, dissociative disorders, disturbing memories, phobias, pain disorders, performance anxiety, addictions, stress reduction, effects of sexual and/or physical abuse, body dysmorphic disorders, and personality disorders.

None of the above symptoms or experiences fit you?

Do you experience distressing emotions that feel excessive for the situation? Are you highly reactive to certain triggers? Do you hold beliefs about yourself that you know are not true?
